Rugby League Ireland head coach Mark Aston at autumn international series

Rugby League Ireland (RLI) head coach Mark Aston at autumn international series next month for their 30-man squad is unveiled today.

Aston thirteen uncapped players in his young team is named, including recent St Helen’s recruits Ian Cross and Aaron McCloskey who both starred in this years domestic competition.

The squad also contains a number of experienced internationals with Bob Beswick (Halifax RLFC) and Liam Finn (Featherstone Rovers) returning to the side.

Finn in his first match between Ireland after becoming the highest ever points scorer with three caps have amassed.

Speaking on his first series as Ireland coach Aston said: “We are looking forward to the challenges ahead of us this year. The squad is a good mix of domestic players, new young players and some experience to guide the team along the way.”

Ireland participated in four international trial that will fall as they face a trip to Scotland and Thomond Park, two historic sites against Samoa and France before returning to LIMERICK, Wales.
